What TT Hongli does to you (look at avatar pic)

People that horde gunpla models and think they're so good at what they do. All they are doing is just connecting pieces together from a instruction booklet. If you are really good, then paint and mod the kit. i'm making this post fully on impulse, so i might change my view but not likely. also, people that buy gunpla on a weekly basis, if your doing it for commission work or getting paid a pretty good amount to build/paint it, it doesnt apply to you. It annoys the crap out of my, idk why but it does. then i see people giving praise to a person that just builds it and does nothing else to it. its suppose to be a hobby and not take up so much of it that your basically working and buying gunpla for the majority of the time *cough*addictions*cough*. . .okay i;m done lol

Yes it's an addiction. lol. I actually created a tread to put a halt on my gunpla purchase for the time being. Maybe I can create a group called "GIBA" or "Gunpla Impulse Buying Anonymous" (well not sure about the anonymous part. lol)

But I do agree with you with the praising that goes to the builder of the OOTB (Out of the Box). I will probably praise the person for "getting" the kit (or praising the kit itself) but not towards his/her "awesome work" till he customize it.

I can't really talk about ppl who buy too much gunpla cuz I know I buy too much :P Not on a weekly basis, but I usually pick something up every 2-3 weeks... I'm a ploystyrene addict.

But I'm with you on the unpainted models. Sometimes I think what it would be like if Bandai decided to mold all their kits completely in white from now on... hehe it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside :)

I bought a lot the last few months since I started getting into gunpla again. So I fall into the category that pisses sopheaku off? :*(

I used to just build and panel line my kits when I bought them in college years ago, but now that I started it again, I'm taking it to the next level for myself by painting kits and even doing resin kits. I buy because of good deals and I work on several at one time. But it's not like I work on them every day since I have other responsibilities too but I really like to have variety of kits to work on.

Thats actually a fantastic idea Sir.

If Bandai released a regular colored version of their new MG's, and also released a totally uncolored version with perhaps waterslide decals (instead on the usually dry transfer and stickers) aimed at more advanced modelers, I think they would have a winning product on their hands.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

here's my ideal model kit:

*molded all in one color (with the exception of clear parts)
*clear parts are clear, not colored clear
*all dry transfer decals
*no foil stickers or clear stickers
*usual great Bandai quality

hmmm.... maybe I should buy more First Grade kits :P

For right now, I am panel lining and all the basics, but I don't look for any praises, I actually look for tips on how to make it better, whether it be painting or anything else. I don't particularly care for how many kits people buy, they buy how much they can get, I just don't like when someone (not directed at anybody yet since I've yet to see it here, but this is just in general stuff) turns stuff like this into a huge deal like a sport, and tries to take the fun out of it

y'know one thing that ticked me off at another Gundam forum which shall not be named, were ppl that commissioned Gunpla to be built and painted by professionals and then flaunted them around in their "Finished Display" section... they never claimed to have done the work, but it still seems pretty low to post something that you didn't do...

All white gundams would cost less to, and I'd probably by them and start painting cause i'm cheap. I myself have a fair amount of kits panel lined only, to scared to paint for now. If i do paint then I'd spend all my time doing so in order to get an amazing custom. One day I wanna do a tiger striped hi-nu.

Didnt they do some eco-pla last summer? all black or something

and that'd be great, though I would prefer waterslides

i do think bandai should mould the in one colour, gives much more incentive to actually paint the kits. even though it costs a lot more, you'll be much more satisfied with the end result.

Sweet I am one of those people. I just buy kits then build them and sometimes panel line them. And I am ordering sets every month. Soon I will have a huge collection of partially panel lined kits. Of course I do not do it for others praise. I do it for my own enjoyment.

I might someday paint my kits with gundam markers and gain even more disdain lol!

Well I mostly do stop motion videos, so if I paint my kits they will scratched up during the stop motion.

I guess I am kind of the persons you are talking about because I've recently bought a lot of kits and I now have a backlog of kits. I like having a backlog of kits so I can go right in and grab a kit and start on it whenever I feel like it. I've only painted a few of my kits and I plan on painting many more but, sometimes I like the color that it is already molded in and I just want to panel line and do some detail painting. Sometimes people aren't quite at your skill level and don't want to paint their kits yet, and sometimes people just buy a lot of kits and do straight builds because they are gunpla addicts. Everybody is going to approach their hobby in their own unique/un-unique way and I think that is fantastic!

People talking while there mouth is full of food pisses me off. Friends that never answers there cellular phones nor calls the person back. Whats the point of having one if you never answer or return the call.

Not Gundam related but the topic says "Things".

Gunpla wise : people who buy knock offs piss me off. People who buy more knock offs after, piss me off even more. I'm fine with everything else. Oh yeah, knock offs piss me off.

Non-gunpla wise : people who chew loudly. People who talk for the sake of filling an emptiness. People who can't admit that they are wrong =P

Well, not really piss, but more like annoy:
1) group of people talking in the already tight hallway BLOCKING traffic
2) people having a conversation in the bathroom while just hanging out in there, or while they are peeing. It's like...if you wanna talk, do it outside. People who want to do some business in there feels weird when you ladies talk about random stuff. The bathroom is supposed to be a private and quiet place. :P

I find it annoying when ppl just blurt out questions without even trying to find the answers for themselves... Google was created for a reason y'know...

I also find it incredibly annoying when I state something in a video, and ppl still ask questions about it in the comments section... Are you watching the video with the mute button on??

I think most people have short attention spans. I have been guilty of this myself. It is the modern age of multi-tasking. No one pays attention these days.

Ever the obvious...

I hate when people seem to only respond to their own threads, or those of only their "friends." Makes the site feel kind of unfriendly like other more stuck up sites.

Well if you own a lot of kits, they might consider you an expert and want your insight?

@GundamGuns: i usually get about 15 kits every 5-6 months..i agree with you with having a selection whenever you want to go and build a kit..i recently just started paneling and using gundam markers and they really up the detail on the kits. but ive never really enjoyed painted an entire kit. i tried it a few years ago and it didnt turn out to my expectations so i backed off. but i truly enjoy building a gundam. its an art

doing this anywhere pisses me off, especially when its outside an entrance of a place, they get out, and just stand there.
