Ever the obvious...

I just tried to remove paint that came out really bad on my Ez8's thruster. Melted the plastic pretty bad. Thankfully i have another one plus 2 79's so i can easily replace it. Sucks though cause now i have to order another single thruster cause its going to bother me otherwise. Surprisingly enough, i also stripped my resin thrusters, and they're fine. I think it's because i made the mistake of testing it first on the bandai part. Meh the anger has past.

-When I was carefully twisting in Sinanju's upper body into the waist peg and the darn thing just popped off. :(

-Trying to paint clear blue on silver...but things just pooled and certain areas got darker than others.

-spray painting and touched the paint before it fully dried leaving finger prints.

-trying to scribe deeper panel lines but pressed to hard and had my hand slipped and created a gash next to the panel line.

-trying to erase a mark off a metallic finish, only to make it worse.

When I got back into Gunpla three years ago, I was inspired by Plamo Tsukurou and decided to only build to paint from then on. I messed up 4 MGs right away through noobish mistakes and also ruined my first AB (it was cheap) by not thinning primer properly. It was horrible but I still kept going... miraculously. In hindsight, I must have been pretty determined because it was just setback after setback but I didn't quit. I guess in this hobby you can't learn without the occasional screw-up... I still haven't primed a model with my AB to this very day, I only use spray cans for that.

Every time i prime with my ab, i take it completely apart and clean it out thoroughly. Learned that the hard way. I keep putting it off but i need to follow gao's suggestion and get another cheaper one strictly for primer.

I actually bought another cheaper AB for the same purpose 2 years ago but it was a bottom feed AB and cleaning the bottle was such a pain that I stopped using it. If I ever get another AB it'll be a gravity feed AB like the one I'm using now, they're not that hard to keep clean.

Yea i can never go back to suction feed! Gravity feed is such a pleasure to work with.

Mostly scribing lines is where I screw up. I either make a line which is wobbly or my hand slips and I make a gash way off to the side which I have to refill with putty. I've made a few mistakes when airbrushing. I'm still getting used to the levels of dilution. Usually I'll make it waaaaaaay too weak. I like to think that I'm learning something new with every kit. I'm using a suction feed airbrush at the moment, just to get a hang of the basics, but I hope to move on to having a good gravity feed one with the suction as my back up.

while weathering with my new alcohol based marker method, I discovered that the main paint I used on the kit does not take well to to the alcohol

Clearly not a CHAR
The ENTIRE waist section of my HG 00 is all messed up. And the V Fin just broke off too.

So much for using Modeling Cement.

I once tried to build a Zaku 1/100 that was clear (lonnnggg time ago, like 6-7 years ago) and i read for the leg i needed a polycap C so i popped it out and proceeded to fit it where it needed to be fit. Nope.. it didn't work. So i jammed at and twisted it and smushed it and jarred it right in there. Pieces were cut and sides trimmed. It was a warzone!!!! Later on in the model, i realized i cut the wrong poly cap (it was G) and so the C was for the head and it was ruined so the whole model was like.. headless. I was young then and this model has long be destroyed and lost in the abyss but i learned from that mistake. :(

I screwed up the paint on the shoulder of my SD The O that I'm working on right now. I missed some parts of the shoulder when I masked it (my tape is the same color as my paint...) and when I sprayed gray over it for the verniers, I got some paint on it. I then had the brilliant idea that spraying more yellow over it would make it go away. I sprayed too much, and it got all clumped up and nasty. Then I proceeded to sand the paint off and I actually sanded it down too much and took off detail. Now it looks terrible.

This is my first ever painted model so, I'm at least learning from my mistakes... I know how I'm going to go about fixing this though.

I destroyed the shoulder joint on my VF-27ß during construction.

I hated the kit anyway, though, so I just glued it fixed and threw it in its box.

Bloody waste of money...
