I don't like compressed cans for ab's since they run out fast and tend not to have a moisture trap like a compressor has, so your ab will 'spit' alot of moisture.

I've heard bad reports on these type of air brushes. Aside from running out of Air quickly the biggest issue appears to be achieving a consistant pressure.

I'd either stick to cans of spray paint or save for a compressor.

If money is tight, I would suggest checking these products out.

I myself have never airbrushed a model but for $40 dollars (Compressor) and $20 (AB) I am giving it a try.
The guys over at FichtenFoo highly recommends the setup above. The AB itself is a knock off of the Badger 155.

compressors is a big investment :D considering the money you are saving from 4$small spray cans over time it's a bigdeal :D But the only advantage is the cost at the beginning XD and constant maintinance :D

i've seen reviews of the central pneumatic brand... they aren't too hot.

I think when it comes to buying compressors, check out craigslist before you empty the wallet for a new one.
Chances are they'll be an older model on craigslist for a fraction of the cost!

That's how i got my badger cyclone compressor.
and the great thing about the older badger compressors... they're made in the US (compared to the newer models... made in China)

I've never tried the AB + spray can compressor but I highly suggest the cheapo deluxe AB + $40 compressor from HarborFreight. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=airbrush&Submit=Go Total cost for my set was $ 70 bucks shipped. It arrived in 3 days using the regular shipping method. Did my first Future Floor coat followed by a Flat base mixed with Future Floor last night and I am impressed.
