Lack of local gunpla; there are no places where I live to buy Gundams

Of course my parents decided to immigrate to Canada, and why not?. We have good schools, good jobs, a solid economy(for the most part), and we have free health care(.....ya "free"......). why would anyone not like living in this country? I'll tell you why, NO GUNPLA!!!! I live in the capital of the nation, Ottawa. Its not the biggest city ever and unfortunately dose not have a single anime/hobby store where you can buy decent gundam model kits(small fan base and such). The one store that does has only four kits, with prices that are double the online price( all hgs from the first season of 00). Ya, most people would say, "why not just buy kits online?" Well my friends, when you live in a country like Canada the price of the kits plus shipping is usually way expensive. And I know stores like hobby wave have decent deals on shipping if you buy multiple kits, but when you're looking at mgs the cost is still high.

sigh* why do gundams have to be sooo awesome!!!!! :'(

Excluding the Gunpla problems, Canada is one of the best countries I have ever had the pleasure to visit.

I usually try to visit Toronto every couple of years to attend the Film Festival and love the culture and people.

We have the same problems regarding gundam in Europe and have to rely almost totally on online ordering.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

I have the same problem. We do have a gunpla store BUT they stock on OLD kits.
HGUC Zeong,Seed kits and so on.

Also the MG is also limited to Seed and a few UC kits.

They used to sell PG.
All the kits are way to overpriced!

Now I go to HK to stock on kits. :)

My hobbystore has a variety of gunpla and if they dont have a gundam that i want i usually ask if they can order for me. I suggest you do the same,
If that doesnt work then try to call your old hobbystore and try to work something out ^_^ ....Online stores are your last stand but i bet you can find another way :D

You live in HK?

Try Kwang Wa Street.

HK has the latest kits, but not some of the older kits.

The only old kits I could find were in the HK Gunpla Convention.

Good luck finding the HGUC Zeong.

I thought in Europe would be easier to get Gundam kit while I am on South East Asia would be a little difficult.

Well, I come from Vietnam(the south), so you can expect how little Gunpla there is here.

I feel your pain about no Gunpla in Canada, in fact, in my city, there are no hobby stores at all. There is one store that does sell Gunpla, a game/anime store but they sell mostly KO kits surprisingly, TT Hongli to be exact, I have no idea where they got them... but, no matter what brand they have, it's very overpriced, ($25+ for a HG), they were even asking $99 for MG Nu Gundam. So my only option is to buy online.

Europe only option is buy online with the risk of customs or pay-overpriced.

Gupla kits are not that faraway but Resins, Option parts, Spare parts are per order basis, and then prices would be usually murdered by the customs. It the worst part is, the taxes the customs lays upon you is depending on their mood.

It almost makes me want to cry..... some kits are expensive enough, like the master grade s-gundam and ounce you add shipping to Ottawa there's just no point.

I've got a local hobby shop that sells some Gunpla and some D&D and comic stuff. Problem is, they are WAY overpriced. They had the 1/144 Seraphim for $24.98 and the 00 Raiser Designer Colors for $34.98. Though, the did have that giant Dygenguar model kit there. I didn't dare look at the price on that thing.

I have about 3 places to go get gunpla from. Hobbytown and a local joint. I almost got a 20 dollar Zaku 2.0 but the guy kept on saying it was coming from Japan and I gave up after a month. Online for me.

I def get them online, because I was very shocked. Ignition mode exia was like ~100 and I got mine around 60 bucks at HLJ. Also Hi nu was like 128 there, I was so surprised. Also, the Rx-78-2 2.0. is like 91 bucks..... O_O

Can not not agree.
Just when you thought your order on HLJ was a steal...
shipping comes around and punches you
in the face.
