Looks like there's a trailer for the Anime now and it looks like there is a fake Sheryl Nome? The Trailer doesn't tell me much, but there are some new stuff too. Basically the movie is a retelling of the Macross Frontier series without the Do you remember love? part. - New weapon on Macross Quarter - VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie Alto's Unit with Atmospheric Flight pack not shown (maybe it's for the second movie and not this one) - New color scheme for Vajra Also the scene where Alto saves Sheryl in mid-air. Well... they didn't take out the DYRL part, but they changed it a bit. These are just things I've heard so I can't confirm it yet. |

Finally got to watch this, it very enjoyable. Story was a little forced even for the 2 hour run length. But that FX CGI are awesome and the final battle scene was EPIC! Just didn't have the heart of Do You Remember Love. |

I am about to watch this movie after recently finishing the series. Did anyone like this movie? I am really looking forward to the secound movie that comes out later this year. I hope they resolve the love triangle in it? I don't care which one he goes with but I thought that with this series being a "made you look" to the SDF macross series, instead of the lead ending up with the "misa type" character (Sheryl) they would flip it up with the shy cute popstar, a "minmai character" if you would (Ranka). |

I loved the first movie. The first half was mainly the first half of the series but I loved how the movie ended. Definitely one to watch |

Well i just finished the macross frontier first movie. I watched it with someone that has not seen frontier and the movie did a great job expaining what was going on. I really did not like how they put more nudity and i don't know what was up with the vampire sheryl seen. This movie seemed to be much more dirty than the series which really disapointed me. The animation quality was out of this world great. I kind of liked the story changes they did. Really wondering what are they going to do with Spoiler: click to toggle Not sure if i am going to keep my first movie but i will be looking forward to the next movie with great anticipation of what changes they will make in the ending. but that will probably not be answered until 2012 when it comes on dvd. |

I wonder what is up with the bells and wedding dress scene. The real question is are they going to tie up loose ends with this one or are they going to make a new season? What do you think? |

Tie it up probably, Frontier is the only Macross (I believe) to have 2 movies. I wouldn't really mind a second season, though, if they bring up a good enough reason in the second movie. The most I think we'll see is OVAs |

But we are all hoping that they will change the ending in a way to finaly tie up the love triangles and give a better epilogue for the rest of the characters. |

Not worth my time so. I hate it when writers cant finish their work properly the first time. Redoing it makes me feel that they treat the original as a waste. |

It's probably not at all a retelling but a completely different story seperate from the original. I dunno why people B**** about the love triangle not being resolved, that's Macross, deal with it, it's not even the first time ever heard of Macross 7? If they told us what happens to ever love triangle every series/OVA/ movie it'd become stale and predictable |

lol...love triangle is typical Macross since the first show. every Macross series involves love triangles. False Songstress has a completely different plot line using some of the original footage from the show. the next movie will be the continuation of the false songstress. the tv show ending will not be touched. |

I just wanna say that as someone who grew up in San Francisco, and loved Macross as a kid, having them set parts of it in San Francisco felt like they must have made it just to please me. Like it was a big hug from my macross childhood. They even got the right stores on haight street. I prefer the story of the series, and I dont think the ending needed any clarification, but the animation in False Songstress was pretty epic. The concert scene was mind blowing. Despite the bigger budget, it felt like the need to shorten many of the dogfights and action sequences made the scenes less nuanced and realistic. |

i see what your getting at sum of the dog fights coud have been shortened a bit thow over all the paceing for the movie was tarivic since most anime movies are 100 min and this one being nerly 2 hours thats rely good |

Just watched the new Macross movie. Finally got to see the VF-29 in action! And...Alto finally picks a girl ;D Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go attempt to transform my Macross kit again. |
